British American Tobacco - Serpil Timuray

Serpil was appointed to the Board of British American Tobacco p.l.c. as a Non-Executive Director on 4 December 2023 and as a member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

Serpil brings extensive experience to the Board, particularly in leading the operation of large companies in technology and fast-moving consumer goods sectors, growing consumer and enterprise product companies, and managing global strategy, marketing, innovation and digital transformation.

She has held a variety of executive roles, including her current role as the CEO of Europe Cluster at Vodafone Group. Her former roles at Vodafone Group’s Executive Committee included the Group Chief Commercial Operations and Strategy Officer, the Regional CEO of AMAP (Africa, Middle East, Asia, Pacific), and she has served as a board member in the listed companies: Vodacom Group, Safaricom and Vodafone Qatar. Serpil joined Vodafone in 2009 as the CEO of Turkey. Prior to joining Vodafone, Serpil spent 10 years at Danone latterly as the CEO of Danone Dairy Turkey. She began her career in 1991 at Procter & Gamble, where she held several marketing roles for 8 years latterly as a member of the Executive Committee in Turkey.

Serpil is currently a Non-Executive Director of TPG Telecom Plc. She was previously an independent Non-Executive Director of Danone Group Plc from 2015 to 2023 and the Chair of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee.
